Mukhtaṣar al-Qudūrī

مختصر القدوري

An entry-level Hanafi fiqh primer by Imam al-Qudūrī (d. 428 AH), foundational across the South Asian and Anatolian curricula.

Hanafi

The Mukhtaṣar is the foundational Hanafi fiqh text. It opens, as the genre demands, with ritual purity (ṭahārah) — what makes a person ready to pray — and unfolds methodically through prayer, zakat, fasting, hajj, transactions, marriage, divorce, criminal law, and the rest of the canonical chapters.

Imam al-Qudūrī wrote concisely, and the text rewards close reading. Each chapter assumes the previous; each ruling assumes the vocabulary it has just established. These notes follow the chapter structure and aim to clarify, not replace, the original.
