Who we are
IlmHive ("we", "us") is a personal educational archive of classical Islamic study notes published at ilmhive.com. You can reach us at snuddin123@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
We try to collect as little personal data as possible. The only personal data we deliberately handle is what you give us through the site:
- Contact-form submissions. Your name, email address, subject, and message. Used only to reply to you.
- Submit-notes submissions.Your name (optional), email address, the discipline you've indicated, the title and description of the contribution, and any link you provide. Used only to evaluate and acknowledge the contribution.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request information (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for short-term diagnostic and security purposes.
We do not set tracking cookies, run third-party advertising, sell or share personal data, or attempt to identify individual readers.
Lawful basis
Under UK GDPR, our lawful basis for processing the data above is either (a) your consent, given when you submit a form, or (b) our legitimate interests in operating the site securely and replying to messages.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are retained for as long as is reasonable to answer or follow up on them — typically up to twelve months. Server logs are kept for a much shorter window by our hosting provider. We delete what we no longer need.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers — for hosting, deployment, and transactional email. They process data only on our instructions. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share personal data with anyone else.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask us to:
- confirm what personal data we hold about you;
- correct anything that is inaccurate;
- delete your data, subject to any legal retention obligations;
- object to or restrict particular kinds of processing.
Send any such request to snuddin123@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and analytics
IlmHive does not currently use cookies for tracking and does not run third-party analytics. If that ever changes, this page will be updated and (where required) consent will be requested before any non-essential cookie is set.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the date at the top and, where it is reasonable to do so, mention the change on the site.
